Alcohol and Other Drug group counselling during coronavirus (COVID-19) Introduction The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has resulted in changes to the way people who use alcohol and other drugs are supported.

The community services sector provides services to many vulnerable Victorians who are especially impacted by the coronavirus (COVDI-19) pandemic. The economic impact of the pandemic, and the stresses that arise as a result of self-isolation and physical distancing increase the demand on community services from vulnerable Victorians during this period and into the future.

The Victorian Alcohol and Drug Association welcomes the announcement of a second Injecting room following the release of the Hamilton report.

This information provides guidance to Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) community residential rehabilitation and withdrawal providers (referred to as essential AOD residential services in this guidance) about continued service delivery during coronavirus (COVID-19).
